Thomson ATOL protection promotion

Thomson Holidays has launched a fairly agressive media campaign highlighting the consumer protection that comes with an ATOL bonded holiday. They take the step of pointing out that booking flights low cost airlines / scheduled airlines in general does not offer this protection. The campaign TV advert is shown below.



There will also be magazine adverts with two versions of the ATOL protection promotion published. One will have the headline “Do-It-Yourself holidays”
Otherwise known as “if-your-airline-goes-bust-you’re on-your own holidays”

Another version says “No frills, No Guarantees. Budget airlines don’t ATOL protect their flights. We do”.

Thomson abandoned their low cost airline strategy at the end of October 2008, which included ceasing operations from Coventry airport.
